Ladies Night!

Ok, so it's official! First game night February 25 at my house! Please RSVP by text or blog! If you can't come this month, but want to remain on the list let me know!

Girls Night!

So my sister and 11 of her friends have Bunko once a month. I have many times been one of the "alternates" if one of the ladies could not come. I really have enjoyed each time that I have gone and was thinking in the car ride last night how fun it would be to have a Bunko (or some other game depending on the number of participants!) Night each month. I started making a list in my head of ladies that I could invite and I got quite a few! So here is my question would you be willing to travel to Muskogee one a month (or heck even if we did it every other month) for a game night with ladies our age?

Here's the format. We would rotate around houses (I'd be willing to travel to Tulsa also!) once every 1-2 months and the hostess would provide snacks and another person would bring a cheapo prize for the winner. Then we would rotate to someone's house for the next month and they would host the night with food and someone else would bring the prize. Nursing babies allowed but older children and men stay at home.

What do you think? So far I have a list of about 8-10 ladies I think would participate. And yes all of my readers are on that list. You lucky five, you!

Update on the 5k!

So we had a meeting last night to discuss some of the details for the race. We are thinking about the name River Country Rush since it will be held at hatbox field where the River Country Water park is located. What do you think? Do you have any ideas for a name?

John also informed me after reading the last post that pregnant women are no longer exempt from the race. They at least have the walk the 1 mile fun run! Sorry Laura and Maggie!

Laura is allowed to skip since she'll be big and preggo and Jac is too since she'll still be in Armenia, but I expect the rest of you to be there!!!

More details to follow!

Recovery

Sometimes the road to recovery can be bumpy.

I was thinking about this Sunday as I waited at the doctor's office AGAIN! Somehow I managed to get bronchitis on top of strep which led to inflammation of my lung/rib cartilage (Costcochondritis). I woke up Sunday convinced I had somehow magically broken my rib during the night. I couldn't even get out of bed. Sometimes it feels like in order to be fully healed you have to go through many bumps in the road. Today after 3 rounds of antibiotics and steroids (No roid-rage yet :) ) I am finally feeling better! Praise God!

But I think this can be applied to many other areas of our lives. When I think through all the times in my life that have been hard I recall that healing didn't take place over night. For example, going through pregnancy loss, my parents' separation, even when John and I broke up in college. Complete healing takes time and sometimes it hurts. Even when we are completely healed there can be scars (Physical and Emotional) left to remind us of our pain. But I think this is just how God intended it to be!

This is pretty much a rambling post because I have had a lot one my mind the last few days. We have a good friend that had been in recovery from cancer find another lump on his neck yesterday. This just makes me feel physically ill for him and his family. I know God can heal but sometimes you just want to holler at God and remind Him of all this family has already been through and that this is not what they needed. But again the road to recovery can be bumpy and painful. Please pray for A and B right now. Kelli you know them, but they have asked that no one say anything right now because their kids don't know yet.

I promise to post a light hearted fun post later. Just needed to get some things off my chest.
